They could have made a few changes to make it so that it is better. I feel like Van Richten's was a good chance to republish the Undying Patron much like the Bladesinger was. The SCAG subclasses have been very slowly republished, and the Undying Warlock has similarities to the Undead Patron so to not republish it seems like WotC is leaving it to die. With the Undead Patron being published in the upcoming book, are people concerned that this will leave the Undying Patron forgotten? Many people argue that the Undead Patron is not "fixing" or replacing the Undying Patron but they clearly have a lot of thematic overlap with Undead, Undeath, Necromancy and example Patrons being Liches or Dreadlords.

How many lvs should I take palay and warlock? I also would like to have as many minions as possible. Right now the party is lv 4 I was thinking of doing Oath breaker 3 undying 1 for now. We are playing curse of Strahd and I wanted to play a front liner and the oath breakers 3rd lv ability to try and control a undead sounds sweet then I was looking at the SCAG undying warlock and it's 1st lv ability looks helpful as well.
